ABOUT LINDSAY
For a long time, I lived under the pressure of feeling like I had to be the perfect Christian girl. I grew up knowing that Jesus loves me, but I truly doubted that He liked me unless I was obediently serving Him and being the poster child for how a Christian should live. I was afraid of making a mistake, ashamed when it inevitably happened, and avoided ever admitting to them because I didn’t want there to be a blemish on what was supposed to look like a life filled with joy and peace.
All I had was religion and no relationship with the God who is the source of real joy and peace. But the more I’ve studied the Bible for myself, the more I’ve found the sweetness of a real relationship with the Lord. I’m no expert or scholar—just a girl who finally, genuinely loves Jesus, loves studying His Word, and is wholly undone that He not only loves me, but He likes me and wants to be with me.
As a writer and speaker, it is my greatest joy to share what I’m learning with other women and invite them to release the weight of perfection and performance and instead walk with Jesus and rest in His love.
This all started as a blog—a place where I felt compelled to write and encourage women in the midst of navigating life’s challenges. As a young girl, I remember sitting at the kitchen table reading a plaque on the wall that said, “Learn from the mistakes of others. You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself.”
This quote from Eleanor Roosevelt resonated deeply with me. None of us want to make mistakes, so if we can avoid making them, we should. Right? But it raises an important question: If we don’t ever share our mistakes, how will others be able to learn from them?
Here, you will find authenticity and vulnerability. I’m not perfect, and I’m done pretending to be. I believe the challenges, situations, and mistakes in my life have provided an avenue to speak truth into the lives of other women. My desire is that by opening up about my own struggles, they feel less alone in theirs. It is my joy to turn around, take a hand, and help the women walking behind me.
One of my favorite things is to sit at a coffee shop with a friend, talking for hours over a delicious latte. I live in San Antonio, Texas, with my husband and two littles, and stay exclusively indoors if the temperature is anything over 80.
